Ram Previews ProMaster City, Updates Fleet Vehicle Lineup
The return of the small van headlined enhancements across the ProMaster, Chassis Cab, Heavy Duty, and Ram 1500 lineup, along with a preview of future Ram products.

Bruce Velisek, head of Ram Brand sales and operations, detailed the new Ram ProMaster City. "We're the first one back into the segment," he said.

Ram used Stellantis' Pro One Fleet Preview event in Pontiac, Michigan, on June 4 to outline its product strategy, highlighted by the return of the ProMaster City compact van, updates to existing ProMaster vans and Ram trucks, and a roadmap that includes two new pickup models and an electrified work truck.
Bruce Velisek, head of Ram Brand sales and operations, shared from the stage that Ram sales are up 17% year over year and had gained 7 points of industry share.
"We need new products to get additional market share," said Velisek, as he walked through Ram's current and future commercial vehicle lineup.
ProMaster City Returns to a Vacated Segment
From a new-model standpoint, the headline vehicle was the 2027 Ram ProMaster City, with vans arriving at customers in Q1 2027. It marks Stellantis' return to the small van segment that was abandoned in the U.S. by 2023.
"We're the first one back into the segment," Velisek said.
The new van is 2.5 inches taller and nearly 23 inches longer than its predecessor, delivering more cargo volume while retaining “garageability” (only a word in automotive).
The van is expected to offer 1 ton of payload capacity and 1 ton of towing capacity.
The return comes as many fleets continue to seek smaller alternatives to full-size vans for applications that require maneuverability, parking flexibility, and lower operating costs.
Ram Expands Commercial Van Offerings
Beyond the ProMaster City, Velisek outlined updates throughout the Ram commercial van portfolio.
For 2027, Ram is adding a ProMaster cargo model with a 159-inch wheelbase and Super High Roof configuration, expanding cargo capacity options for delivery and vocational fleets.
The ProMaster lineup also gains new trim packages, optional 180-degree rear door hinges, and a new Loading Zone Yellow exterior color.
Updates to Chassis Cab and Heavy-Duty Trucks
Ram's commercial truck lineup also gets several updates.
The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab gains higher payload ratings on select gasoline-powered models, a new 270-degree surround-view camera system, and expanded Pro Upgrades packages designed to simplify body-builder installations and vocational upfits.
Velisek said the enhancements are intended to improve productivity for customers operating utility, service, municipal, and construction fleets.
The heavy-duty lineup gets new payload packages, diesel powertrain improvements, and expanded vocational offerings, as well as new Power Wagon and Rebel variants for customers requiring additional off-road capability.
Ram 1500 Gets New Performance Models and Features
The 2027 Ram 1500 lineup also receives notable additions.
Velisek highlighted the return of the TRX performance truck and the Rumble Bee package, while the broader lineup gains additional driver-assistance and convenience technologies, including expanded availability of surround-view cameras, passive entry, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
The truck will also see expanded powertrain offerings, including the return of V-8 performance options.
While many of the updates target retail buyers, they reflect Ram's effort to strengthen its overall truck portfolio as the company works to increase market share in North America.

Gov Fleets Get Emergency Response Configuration
In a separate presentation, Patrick Huntley, who leads Stellantis' government and commercial operations, outlined several products for law enforcement and public-sector customers.
Among them was the new Emergency Response Vehicle configuration based on the Ram 2500 platform, which Huntley described as a pursuit-capable heavy-duty truck designed to combine emergency-response functionality with substantial towing and payload capability.
Huntley also previewed the upcoming Dodge Charger Pursuit sedan, which Stellantis expects to become one of the few sedan-based pursuit vehicles available to law enforcement agencies when it launches.
Additional government-focused products included specialized Jeep Grand Wagoneer configurations that can be adapted for executive transport, command-center operations, and emergency-response applications.

The new Ram ProMaster City is 2.5 inches taller and nearly 23 inches longer than its predecessor.

Future Products to Reshape Ram's Fleet Portfolio
Perhaps the most revealing part of Velisek's presentation was a roadmap slide previewing several future Ram products.
The lineup included the Ram Rampage compact pickup, a new midsize pickup expected to revive the Dakota name, and the Ramcharger extended-range electric pickup.
Together, the vehicles would fill several longstanding gaps in Ram's portfolio.
The Rampage would give Ram an entry into the growing compact pickup segment, while the Dakota would return the brand to the midsize truck market for the first time in more than a decade.
Those additions would allow Ram to compete more directly in segments currently dominated by Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet, and GMC.
The Ramcharger combines electric propulsion with an onboard gasoline-powered generator that recharges the battery, offering many of the benefits of an electric vehicle without the charging limitations that have slowed adoption among some fleet operators.
For fleet managers, the return of the ProMaster City may be the most immediate development. But the larger message from Velisek's presentation was that Ram's product expansion is only beginning.
