Stellantis Pro One, the automaker's global commercial vehicles business unit, has laid out an ambitious roadmap to 2030 that includes 11 new models, a fully autonomous last-mile delivery concept, and a significant pivot from vehicle provider to full fleet ecosystem partner.

The strategy, presented at Stellantis' Investor Day on May 21 in Auburn Hills and formally announced May 28, sets three headline targets for 2030: 30% volume growth from its current base of approximately 1.65 million units sold in 2025, global market leadership in commercial vehicles, and a goal of 100% vehicle uptime for fleet customers.

A Major Product Offensive

The 11 new models announced include two next-generation van platforms — mid-size and large — built on the STLA Brain architecture and offering a full spectrum of powertrains including battery electric, hybrid, and internal combustion. The company flagged hybrid solutions as a particular focus, a notable signal for fleet managers navigating the transition away from pure ICE without committing fully to electric.

North American fleet customers will see several direct impacts. Stellantis Pro One confirmed a full renewal of its Ram full-size pickup lineup covering light-duty, heavy-duty, and chassis-cab versions, including what the company describes as the segment's first range extender electric vehicle. A new mid-size Ram pickup is also planned for North America, addressing a segment gap the company identified as a key strategic priority. The Ram Rampage compact pickup, already sold in South America, will also come to North American markets.

Pro One NEXT: From Selling Vehicles to Managing Uptime

Perhaps the most significant long-term development for fleet operators is Pro One NEXT, a new uptime command center concept the company describes as the core of its ecosystem transformation. Currently being piloted in Europe, the platform integrates real-time vehicle monitoring, proactive case management, and coordinated dealer, parts, and technical networks — with the stated ambition of minimizing downtime across the fleet lifecycle.

"With Pro One NEXT, we are taking a decisive step forward in the way we support our customers' business," said Eric Laforge, Global Senior Vice President of Stellantis Pro One. "By combining data, connectivity and operational expertise, through the deep integration of dealers, the Command Center, and Stellantis Parts & Technical Services, we can proactively manage vehicle uptime, reduce complexity and deliver tangible value every day."

The broader ecosystem is organized around five pillars: data and connectivity with over-the-air updates and AI-native vehicle interaction; the Pro One NEXT uptime command center; integrated services including financing, insurance, and charging solutions; the CustomFit upfitting and conversion program through a network of over 550 certified partners; and a professional service network of more than 21,000 touchpoints globally.

An Autonomous Vision for Last-Mile Delivery

Looking further ahead, Stellantis Pro One will debut an autonomous "Box on Wheels" concept at the IAA Transportation Hannover Autoshow on September 14 — a zero-emission, driverless vehicle designed specifically for last-mile delivery operations. The company describes it as a full ecosystem solution built to reduce operating costs and enable new business models, though production timelines were not announced.

Automotive Fleet's Take

Stellantis Pro One currently ranks third in North America with approximately 14.8% market share, up nearly three points year over year — but still trails the segment leaders by a meaningful margin. The 2030 strategy represents the clearest signal yet that closing that gap is a stated corporate priority.

This may feel familiar to fleet managers who have watched Ford and GM remake their commercial vehicle identities over the past several years. Ford Pro and GM Fleet (recently rebranded from GM Envolve) have both become service providers, not just vehicle suppliers.

Stellantis Pro One is making the same bet, but with a meaningful difference in scale and complexity. Ford Pro is built around a single dominant brand in North America. GM Fleet similarly centers on Chevrolet and GMC. Stellantis Pro One is coordinating six brands across multiple continents — Citroën, FIAT Professional, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, and Vauxhall — under a single umbrella.

The Pro One NEXT uptime platform, currently piloted in Europe, is the piece worth watching most closely for North American fleet operators. If Stellantis can bring the command center model — real-time monitoring, proactive case management, coordinated dealer and parts networks — to the US market at meaningful scale, it would represent a genuine step forward from where Stellantis Fleet & Business Solutions, its predecessor program, left off.
