The Chevrolet Bolt is back. Almost.
From its market introduction in 2017, the Chevrolet Bolt became the first long-range, mass-produced EV available to customers at a lower price point. Production ended in December 2023. But by popular demand, GM is bringing it back for the 2027 model year.
Preview of Updates
Chevrolet has released early images showing several changes for the upcoming model:
A revised front fascia
Redesigned rear tail lamps
The addition of a NACS (North American Charging Standard) charging port

Background
The last generation Bolt EV offered an EPA-estimated range of 259 miles, a 66-kWh battery, and DC fast-charging capability of up to 100 miles of range in about 30 minutes. It seated five and was known for its hatchback design and compact footprint.
Looking Ahead
While Chevrolet has not yet shared specifics about the new model’s battery or performance, the confirmed updates indicate the Bolt EV will return with both design changes and updated charging compatibility.
