First Look at the Returning 2027 Ram ProMaster City
The Ram ProMaster City returns for 2027 as a midsize cargo and passenger van with a 2,175-pound payload, 2,000-pound towing capacity, and more than 9 feet of cargo-floor length.

The 2027 Ram ProMaster City is returning to the Ram Professional lineup as a right-sized option between smaller commercial vehicles and full-size vans. Available as a cargo van or passenger wagon, the front-wheel-drive model is designed for businesses that need useful capacity in a maneuverable, garage-friendly package.
In this edition of Automotive Fleet on the Move, we get a walkaround of the new ProMaster City and its fleet-focused features. Its turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder engine produces 166 hp and 221 lb.-ft. of torque, supporting a maximum payload of 2,175 pounds and targeted towing capacity of 2,000 pounds.
The walkaround also examines the van’s cargo area, which provides 167 cubic feet of volume, more than 9 feet of load-floor length and 48.9 inches between the wheel wells. Other features include a low step-in height, a choice of 180-degree rear swing doors or an available liftgate, a digital rearview mirror, and dual 10-inch displays.
Orders are expected to open in the second half of 2026, with vehicles arriving at dealerships in the first quarter of 2027.
