Auto Driveaway has launched Arrive, a tracking feature that provides vehicle pickup and delivery recipients with live location updates and estimated arrival times through text and email notifications.

The feature activates automatically when a driver is within one hour of the destination. Recipients receive a text message and email containing a secure tracking link that displays the driver's current location, route and estimated arrival time. No account creation or app download is required.

While Arrive focuses on the final stage of a vehicle move, users already have end-to-end shipment visibility through Auto Driveaway's existing customer portals, according to Matt LaPrade, the company's vice president of technology.

"Our existing customer portals provide fleet managers and primary points of contact with end-to-end visibility into vehicle relocations throughout the entire transportation lifecycle," LaPrade said. "Arrive is designed for a different audience and purpose. It provides pickup and delivery contacts with a simple, secure tracking experience as the driver approaches the pickup or delivery location."

According to LaPrade, Arrive captures driver location through Auto Driveaway's mobile application. Estimated arrival times are generated using dynamic routing technology that continuously adjusts for traffic conditions and other delays using mapping and routing technology.

Auto Driveaway said the feature is intended to provide pickup and delivery contacts with vehicle tracking information similar to consumer rideshare and package delivery services.

The company said Arrive does not require changes to driver workflows or additional software downloads for customers.

Looking ahead, LaPrade said the company plans to continue expanding its digital capabilities, including direct integrations and real-time data sharing.
