2025 Nissan Frontier Receives Design Refresh and Utility Updates

The 2025 Frontier features a 6 ft. bed for all trims, an increased maximum tow rating, and a larger available infotainment system.

The 2025 Nissan Frontier features a new design, enhanced utility, and updated technology. Noticeable changes can be seen with the 6 ft. bed for all trims, an increased maximum tow rating, and a larger available infotainment system.

The refreshed 2025 Nissan Frontier will reach Nissan dealerships later this summer. Pricing and range will be announced closer to the on-sale date.

Specs, Trims, and Driver Assistance Capabilities

The Frontier comes equipped with a direct-injected 3.8-liter V6 engine and 9-speed automatic transmission. The engine features idle stop/start and is rated for 310 hp and 281 lb.-ft. of torque.

Active Brake Limited Slip is standard on all grades, with Pro-4X upgrading to an electronic locking differential. The Pro-X and Pro-4X feature all-terrain tires, Bilstein off-road suspension components, over-fenders, and Lava Red tow hooks.

The Frontier offers a Utili-Track system for its bed with adjustable tie-down cleats, a spray-in bedliner, and an available 120V power outlet.

The Frontier SL includes leather-appointed front and rear seating, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED exterior lighting, and a Fender Premium Audio system with 10 speakers.

Numerous driver assistance and safety technologies are now standard across all grades, from S through SL, including Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Parking Sensors, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Cruise Control. The Frontier SL also features Traffic Sign Recognition.

Truck Bed Updates and Max Towing Increase

The 2025 Frontier expands the availability of the Crew Cab long-wheelbase configuration from only SV to SV, Pro-4X, and SL grades. The Frontier's 6 ft. bed could benefit fleets hauling large loads and cargo to job sites.

The vehicle also boasts an increased maximum trailering capacity of up to 7,150 lbs. this year. Towing capacities increase by around 500 lbs. on all grades and configurations compared to the 2024 Frontier.

The Frontier Pro-4X includes an Intelligent Around View Monitor. The Off-Road Mode viewing function can now be used while driving up to 12 mph.

Refreshed Design and Function

The 2025 Frontier's new look has a revised front fascia, grille, and bumper design, a new tailgate finisher for the Pro-X and Pro-4X, redesigned dashboard trim, a new 17-in. alloy wheel design, and the introduction of a new Afterburn Orange paint.

Based on customer feedback, Nissan made multiple functional interior revisions, such as a telescopic-adjusting steering wheel standard for all grades. A four-way power passenger seat also becomes standard on the Pro-X, Pro-4X, and SL grades. The six-way power driver's seat now adds two-way power lumbar on SV grades and higher.

SV grades and higher add a 12.3-in. touchscreen infotainment system. The system includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, enabling compatible smartphone mirroring without plugging in a USB cord.

All Frontier grades now have a standard sliding rear window and a sunglasses holder in the overhead console. SV models now have standard 17-in. alloy wheels. In SL grades, drivers can find a wireless phone charger, an Intelligent Around View Monitor, and a four-way power passenger seat that has also become standard.
