Jaguar Land Rover is bringing back its rugged Defender SUV to the U.S. market after a more-than-20-year absence as a more refined Wrangler competitor.

The 2020 Land Rover Defender, which debuted at the Frankfurt auto show today, will retail for just over $50,000 to a high of more than $80,000 for the top of the line model.

It will be available in two wheelbased, including the 90 and 110 models. The four-door 110 model will arrive first and the two-door 90 will arrive in late 2020. The model nomenclature brings back heritage naming because the 90's wheelbase is now 101.9 inches and the 110 comes in at 119 inches.

Engine choices will include the six-cylinder mild-hybrid P400 that uses an electric supercharger and motor paired with generator, which use 48-volt architecture. It's rated at 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet, according to the company. JLR will also offer a 296-hp four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
