Nissan has revealed the 2027 Rogue Hybrid, introducing its e-POWER hybrid system to the automaker’s best-selling SUV in the U.S.

The Rogue Hybrid will initially launch in fall 2026 in the all-wheel-drive SR trim with the SR Technology Package. The full SV, SR and Platinum lineup will follow in early 2027, with pricing starting at $35,490 for the SV.

Unlike a conventional hybrid in which both the gasoline engine and electric motor can drive the wheels, Nissan’s e-POWER system uses the gasoline engine to generate electricity while the vehicle is propelled exclusively by electric motors. The Rogue Hybrid does not require external charging.

Nissan estimates the new model will achieve 40 mpg, with standard dual-motor all-wheel drive across the lineup.

How Rogue’s e-POWER System Works

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid uses the third generation of Nissan’s e-POWER technology. According to Nissan, nearly 2 million e-POWER-equipped vehicles have been sold globally across the system’s three generations.

Because propulsion comes from the electric motors rather than a mechanical connection between the gasoline engine and wheels, the system is designed to provide electric-motor acceleration while retaining gasoline refueling.

The Rogue Hybrid also includes e-Pedal and Smooth Stop technology, which allows drivers to control acceleration and deceleration using the accelerator pedal in many driving situations.

Technology and Driver Assistance

A 12.3-inch touchscreen and Qi2 wireless charging are standard on the Rogue Hybrid. A 14.3-inch display with Google built-in and Google Gemini is optional on the SR and standard on the Platinum.

Driver-assistance features include an updated ProPILOT Assist system, with Auto Lane Change and Hands-Off Traffic Jam Support available depending on configuration.

Standard safety technology includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning and Intervention, Lane Departure Warning and Intelligent Lane Intervention.

The Rogue Hybrid also features rear doors that open nearly 90 degrees and five LATCH anchors, allowing a child seat to be installed in the center seating position.
