DEARBORN, MI - Ford Motor Company's 2010 model-year lineup includes a series of new fuel-efficient cars and crossovers. The automaker also announced plans July 21 for 30 new powertrain actions globally - 22 in North America alone - by the end of 2010.

The foundation for Ford's plan is its new EcoBoost engine which uses gasoline turbocharged direct-injection technology for up to 20-percent better fuel economy, 15 percent fewer CO2 emissions, and superior performance versus larger-displacement engines, according to the automaker. For the 2010-model year, EcoBoost will be available on the Ford Flex, Taurus SHO, and Lincoln MKS and MKT. By 2012, the company plans to produce 750,000 EcoBoost units annually in the U.S. and 1.3 million globally. By 2013, 90 percent of the company's lineup will offer EcoBoost engines.
