Cadillac to Launch Two New Luxury Cars for 2012
TRAVERSE CITY, MI - General Motors' North America President Mark Reuss announced the new XTS and "codenamed" ATS models are slated for spring and summer 2012, respectively.

TRAVERSE CITY, MI - General Motors' North America President Mark Reuss announced the company plans to launch two new luxury cars for its Cadillac brand in 2012. The company also announced pricing for the fuel-saving eAssist technology on the Buick Regal.
For the launch, Cadillac plans to launch the XTS large luxury sedan and a company luxury sedan, currently dubbed the ATS. The automakers said these models will bracket the CTS Sedan, Coupe, and Wagon family of vehicles. GM stated it’s investing $117 million to make the XTS at its Oshawa Assembly Plant in Ontario.
The company said it plans to launch the Cadillac XTS in the spring of 2012. This model is based on the XTS Platinum Concept that GM unveiled at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. GM said it will feature an advanced front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive system.
The new “codenamed” ATS, which the automaker said will launch in the summer of 2012, will be a rear-wheel-drive luxury sports car. GM released a sketch of the vehicle.
For the eAssist option on the Regal, which GM said delivers an estimated 25-percent fuel-economy improvement (and gives the Regal an EPA fuel economy rating of 36 mpg highway/25 mpg city), the option will cost $2,000. The Regal with eAssist will start at an MSRP of $29,530.
