Subaru of America announced pricing for the all-new 2026 Subaru Outback, which enters its seventh generation with bold new styling, upgraded technology, and the latest driver-assistance features. The SUV arrives at retailers later this year with a starting MSRP of $34,995. The Outback Wilderness trim will follow in early 2026.
New Design and Technology
The 2026 Outback introduces the most significant styling changes in the model’s history, with a stronger, more upright front fascia, vertically positioned headlights, and a wider rear roof pillar that emphasizes strength and utility. Inside, the SUV adopts a calmer design with improved materials and a more spacious layout.
All trim levels include a new 12.1-inch Subaru Multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a 12.3-inch full digital gauge cluster. The interior adds practical updates such as expanded storage, larger cupholders, and climate controls with dedicated hard buttons.
Powertrain Options
Like its predecessor, the Outback comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and at least 8.7 inches of ground clearance. The Wilderness model features increased ground clearance of 9.5 inches.
Two engine options are available. A 2.5-liter Subaru Boxer engine produces 180 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque, while a 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine delivers 260 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. Both are paired with a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) with 8-speed manual shift mode.
Trim Levels
The 2026 Subaru Outback will be available in six trims: Premium, Limited, Touring, Limited XT, Touring XT, and Wilderness.
The Outback Premium starts at $34,995 and includes new exterior styling, standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, and features such as heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, and a power rear gate.
Building on the Premium, the Limited trim adds leather upholstery, a Harman Kardon audio system, navigation, and heated rear seats, starting at $41,715.
The Touring trim, priced from $45,395, includes ventilated front seats, Nappa leather, a surround-view monitor, and expanded EyeSight safety features, including Highway Hands-Free Assist.
The Limited XT and Touring XT feature the higher-output turbocharged engine, priced at $44,365 and $47,995, respectively.
At the top of the lineup, the Wilderness model includes off-road upgrades such as all-terrain tires, exclusive bumpers and cladding, and Wilderness-specific accents. It is priced from $44,995.
Pricing and Availability
The 2026 Subaru Outback will arrive at U.S. retailers later this year, with the Wilderness trim arriving in early 2026. Destination and delivery charges add $1,450 ($1,600 in Alaska). Premium paint colors, including River Rock Pearl and Deep Emerald Green Pearl, are available for $395.
