For the second year in a row, the Toyota Camry takes the crown for Automotive Fleet’s Fleet Car of the Year! Camry has won for the fifth time in the last seven years.

“Back-to-back wins affirm what fleets already know: Camry is the benchmark. But more importantly, this award reflects the voice of our customers. Camry continues to prove that reliability, value, and total cost of ownership aren’t slogans —they’re commitments we deliver every mile, every day,” Kevin Curran, General Manager of Toyota Fleet.

The Fleet Car, Truck, and SUV of the Year awards celebrate excellence in the automotive industry from a fleet perspective. They are judged exclusively by professional fleet managers, who oversee thousands of vehicles and millions of miles per year.

Judging is based on how well the vehicle meets the unique demands of fleet service, reliability, safety, ownership costs, and driver satisfaction.

The awards have been bestowed since 2003, with the inaugural Fleet Car of the Year award presented to the Chevrolet Malibu and the Fleet Truck of the Year award presented to the Ford F-150. Fleet SUV of the Year was introduced in 2019 and was won by the Chevrolet Equinox.

“Fleet Vehicle of the Year awards are unique because they reflect the perspective of the people who manage and drive these vehicles every day,” said Chris Brown, associate publisher of Automotive Fleet. “These awards highlight the vehicles that perform reliably, safely, and efficiently under the demands of real-world fleet operations that help businesses keep moving mile after mile.”

Among many honors, the 2025 Camry earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ — the highest safety designation from IIHS.

Toyota Camry Updates for 2025 Model Year

For the 2025 model year, Camry runs exclusively on Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system.  And, for the first time on a Toyota hybrid model, Electronic On-Demand AWD is available across all four grades.

The Electronic On-Demand AWD was adapted to generate a 232 net-combined hp, up 30 from the previous mechanical AWD.

It also provides on-demand front-to-rear torque distribution based on driving conditions, which supports safer acceleration, handling, and stability in routine driving situations.

For the first time, Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0 comes standard in the 2025 Toyota Camry. TSS includes advanced driver-assistance features such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping and lane-centering aids, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, and proactive safety support.
