New for the 2024 model year, Ford E-Transit adds range, dual onboard chargers, and improved charge times. Ford Pro announced the enhancements as part of the 10-year celebration of Ford Transit in the U.S. in conjunction with the 2024 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The 2024 E-Transit’s battery has 89 kWh of usable energy, up from the first-generation’s 68-kWh battery. The additional range is an increase of 26% on low-roof and a 32% increase on high-roof models, Ford Pro said.

Up from 126 miles on the prior battery, the low-roof model will deliver an estimated range of 159 miles. The 2024 E-Transit maintains the same 266 hp and 317 lb.-ft. of torque as the prior model.

The 2024 Ford E-Transit also comes with new dual onboard chargers to facilitate faster charging.

E-Transit can now charge at a peak power of 176 kW. Fifteen minutes on a DC fast charger (180-plus kW) is estimated to add 67 miles of range on a low-roof cargo van configuration, a 49% increase over the prior battery.

Ford Pro stated that the 2024 E-Transit will charge from zero to 100% in about six hours when using the now-available Ford Pro Series 2 80A charging station — 22% faster than the prior battery — providing a full charge overnight.

For public charging, owners of E-Transits (and other Ford EV models) can now get a complimentary NACS adapter to access Tesla’s 15,300 Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada.

The starting MSRP for the ICE version of Ford Transit cargo van is $46,890.
