A large truck is a rolling billboard, without flat sides and high-intensity lighting. A ready-mix concrete truck, with its huge rotating drum, attracts even more attention.

Fleet Graphics Awards for Public Service Messages

The National Ready Mix Concrete Association (NRMCA) presents annual awards to companies whose trucks display award-winning fleet graphics. Tresca Brothers of Millis, Mass., won this year’s award. Its trucks combine eye-catching graphics with strong public service messages.

Tresca Brothers has been in business since 1920 and is now in the second generation of family ownership. Bob Tresca has been involved with charities such as the American Liver Foundation, American Cancer Society, Buddy Dog Humane Society, the Half the Sky Foundation, and many more. Tresca thought information about the charities’ businesses placed on the sides of his trucks would increase public awareness.

“There was such a great response from everyone involved that the idea just took off,” Tresca said. “We had customers who have seen the drums and asked if they could get a charity they were involved with on a truck. We have had drivers with charities that were special to them ask if we would put their charity on a truck. We even got involved with a few charities during their fundraising events.”

He added that over the past five years, Tresca has helped to raise public awareness for several worthy causes.

Having a well-defined image for the company fleet is important to Tresca Brothers. The trucks shown in the photos each represent a different organization.

“Good intentions result in always keeping the truck clean and shiny to make the logos stand out and bring more attention to the foundations that are represented. With input from outside foundations, we can continue to make this unique and fulfilling project a success,” said Tresca.
