WASHINGTON -- Chrysler Group is recalling more than 5,300 model-year 2008-2012 right hand drive (RHD) Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured from Feb. 1, 2007 through Oct. 10, 2011. RHD Jeeps are typically used by postal workers.
Some of the recalled vehicles may be equipped with driver's airbag clockspring assemblies with faulty circuits. A broken electrical circuit in the airbag clockspring wiring assembly can lead to non-deployment of the driver frontal airbag during a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
Chrysler will notify owners of the recall and make necessary repairs to the airbag circuit free of charge.
Vehicle owners can reach Chrysler at (800) 853-1403.
