WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Nissan is recalling 1,018 2008 Altimas in order to tighten the left side front suspension transverse link bolt.

If the bolt is too loose, it could come out during the car's operation and the driver could experience difficulty in controlling the direction of the vehicle, posing a risk of collision, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Nissan dealers will tighten the bolt to specification free of charge.
