The 2020 Jeep Wrangler will offer a 3.0-liter V-6 EcoDiesel engine that's rated to make 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle will go on sale by the end of the year, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced.
The diesel engine, which will only be available on the four-door Wrangler, is manufactured in Ferrara, Italy.
An exhaust gas recirculation system helps to minimize turbocharger energy losses, which increases fuel economy. FCA is fitting a 5.1-gallon diesel exhaust fluid tank behind the fuel tank with a refill location next to the fuel filler. Fleet managers who use the vehicle can refill the DEF, when they change the oil filter at 10,000 miles.
This engine is an updated version of the one FCA has used in its Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel vehicles in past years.
