Toyota South Africa Motors will equip all new Toyota and Lexus models with wireless internet connectivity effective Sept. 1, 2019, which includes telematics monitoring technologies.
Toyota South Africa partnered with technology companies Altron and Vodacom Business for the roll-out of connectivity features and in-car Wi-Fi via the Toyota Connect, the automakers new connectivity hub that is contained within its MyToyota App, according to Wheels24.
In addition to telematics capabilities, the app allows for vehicles owners to also check the health of their car battery, receive vehicle mileage details, and offer roadside assistance, according to Business Live. The new wi-fi system can also be fitted into older Toyota models for an additional fee.
Toyota has more than 950,000 vehicles across the region.
