Autotrader recently released its list of the 10 best non-luxury Certified Pre-Owned programs for 2019.
Hyundai topped the list, but the list also included Chevrolet/GMC; Dodge/Jeep/Ram; Ford; Honda; Kia; Mazda; Nissan; Subaru; Toyota.
The manufacturers were judged primarily on the warranty tied to their CPO programs. More robust warranty offerings ranked a brand higher, and a sparser offering ranked a brand lower.
One of the biggest factors that is benefitting CPO vehicle sales, according to Autotrader, are the lower price tags that comes with used vehicles. As new-vehicle prices continue to climb, certified pre-owned vehicles are becoming a more attractive option for many buyers.
Average new-vehicle prices are exceeding $35,000, and this is pushing more buyers toward the used market.
Average wholesale values through the middle of 2019 have been strong, in part due to this shift in consumer sales.
