Next-Gen 2020 Corolla Adds Hybrid Model

Toyota's 2020 Corolla will enter its twelfth generation with new powertrain options, including a gasoline-electric hybrid model, and more standard safety technology, Toyota has announced.
Toyota provided details about the new vehicle during a Nov. 15 livestream event, and will give details about the Corolla Hybrid during a Nov. 28 press conference ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The 2020 Corolla will arrive in the spring with updates to its design, powertrain, handling, safety technology, and infotainment system.
The Corolla XSE and SE grades will be powered by a new 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine that makes 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. The standard 1.8-liter inline-four-cylinder engine will carry over from the prior model on L, LE, and XLE models. The 2.0-liter engine will deliver power via a new continuously variable transmission or six-speed manual.
The 2020 Corolla will also offer the next-generation TSS safety bundle. TSS 2.0 includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane keeping, automatic high beams, and road sign recognition.
Connectivity arrives with a standard Entune 3.0 audio system with Wi-Fi connect, Amazon Alexa voice recognition, and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
