Hyundai confirmed that two compact SUVs, the Kona and Santa Fe, will be available in South Africa later this year.

Both the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Kona are scheduled to arrive in the African country in October 2018, according to IOL. Engine options have yet been announced; however, in the U.S. the Kona is available in four trims: SE; SEL; Limited; and Ultimate. The SE and SEL trims come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 hp and 132 lb.-ft. of torque. Meanwhile, the Limited and Ultimate trims come with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 175 hp and 195 lb.-ft. of torque.

Meanwhile, the base model 2019 Santa Fe in the U.S. is powered by a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder that makes 185 horsepower. Hyundai will also offer a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder (232 hp) and the 2.2-liter CRDi turbodiesel that will make 200 hp and 320 pound-feet of torque. All engines will be paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission.
