Infiniti will discontinue the Q40 entry-luxury sedan for 2016 and take a break from producing the Q60 while it develops a new generation of that luxury sedan for 2017, Infiniti has announced. Infiniti has also announced updates to its SUV lineup.
Infiniti won't offer a Q60 in 2016. The 2017 Q60, which is based on the Q60 Concept shown in early 2015, will be available in late-summer or early fall of 2016.
Infiniti is offering a new 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine for the Q50 entry-luxury sedan, which will be available toward the end of the year.
The 2016 Q70 (formerly the M37) prestige luxury sedan offers a new Premium Select Edition available on standard wheelbase models and will arrive in November.
For its SUV lineup, Infiniti is updating its QX50 (formerly the EX37) luxury compact SUV for 2016. Infiniti will offer the QX50 as a rear-wheel or all-wheel model with an extended wheelbase to increase rear seat roominess and increase passenger volume.
The vehicle's exterior has been revised with new LED daytime running lights and LED fog lights, a new side sill design, a new rear fascia and LED side mirror turn signals. A new 19-inch wheel design and a Premium Plus option package has been added, featuring Infiniti's navigation system, around view monitor, streaming audio via Bluetooth, and a front and rear sonar system. Power moon roof and heated front seats come standard. The vehicle should be available in September.
For the QX80, the new signature edition will include driver assistance and split bench packages, body side moldings and chrome mirror caps. The vehicle will be offered in three models, including the QX80, QX80 AWD and QX80 AWD Limited. The vehicle will be available in October.
