The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has added 150 compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered vehicles to its environmentally friendly fleet as part of its strategic plan aimed conserving the environment, using clean energy sources, and measuring up to the international standards and requirements of sustainability, according to a report in the

According to the report, the first 25 CNG vehicles were rolled out for use in August 2013 in Abu Dhabi, one of seven emirates in the United Arab Emirates.

The vehicles were upfitted with CNG systems in cooperation with LeasePlan and the ADNOC company. It was expected that all 150 of the new units would be up and running by late May, according to the report.
