Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has introduced its all-new Xforce compact SUV at the 30th GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show with an initial market launch planned in Indonesia.

The all-new model will be built at Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia facilities in Bekasi, West Java. Roll-outs for the model are also scheduled for Vietnam and the Philippines, as well as South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa regions.

A five-passenger compact SUV, the new Xforce was developed to answer the needs and road conditions of drivers in the ASEAN (Southeast Asia) region, said Takao Kato, Mitsubishi Motors president and CEO. “We hope the all-new Xforce will become a best-suited buddy for any adventure that drivers wish to embark on, giving them an extra force to go one step further and experience something new."

The new Xforce features an efficient CVT combined with Mitsubishi Motors’ 1.5L DOHC 16-valve MIVEC engine. As a 2WD model, the Xforce utilizes Mitsubishi Motors' four-wheel control technology for SUV-typical road handling. Four drive modes of Normal, Wet, Gravel and Mud equip the SUV for a range of road conditions. Adopted by Mitsubishi Motors for the first time, the Wet mode improves cornering and stability on wet or flooded roads.

With18-inch tire and wheel measurements, the Xforce holds a class-leading ground clearance of 222mm (8.7 in.). A minimum turning radius of 5.2 m (17 ft.), one of the smallest in its class, enables smooth handling even in the U-turns common in ASEAN cities, says the automaker.

The 40:20:40 split rear seats create a high loading capacity accommodating lengthy cargo as well as ample space for four passengers. Interior room space is among the best in class, according to Mitsubishi Motors.

For the first time, the Xforce comes equipped with an eight-speaker sound system — Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium — developed in collaboration with Yamaha Corporation. Other amenities include a 12.3-inch smartphone-link display and an eight-inch digital driver display offering intuitive operation. Another first in a Mitsubishi model, a WebLink feature allows users to connect their smartphone and project applications on the display.
