Sixt and Google are intensifying their strategic partnership by offering Google users ride-hailing and taxi transfer services in the Sixt One app, the companies announced.

For this purpose, Google Maps has integrated the ride-hailing offer from Sixt Ride. If users have a route suggested via the online map service and want to use a taxi for the trip, Sixt Ride is now available as a Germany-wide provider of spontaneous mobility. Initially, Sixt Ride will be available on Google Maps in 21 German cities, including metropolises such as Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich, as well as large and medium-sized cities such as Bonn, Hanau, and Rüsselsheim.

With the integration of Sixt Ride, Google Maps is expanding the mobility offer in new cities. This is possible because Sixt Ride cooperates with the local taxi offices in Germany and transfers its orders to the connected driver network. Thus, Sixt customers can access one of the largest digitally connected networks of taxis in the cities on offer. This ensures high availability and short waiting times for an ordered taxi.

If users in Google Maps decide to transfer via Sixt Ride, they will be forwarded to the Sixt Ride area of the Sixt mobility app. There, they can choose between different vehicle categories such as premium taxi, which only includes premium vehicle models such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, standard taxi, and taxi van. In addition, taxis with separation protection can be selected in some cities, a category that is very popular in view of the COVID-19 crisis
