Wheels, Inc. completed its 2020 United Way fundraising campaign, ultimately raising over $130,000 for the United Way of Metro Chicago.

Every year, Wheels partners with the United Way of Metro Chicago to raise funds for agencies and support programs in the Chicagoland community. Last year, Wheels raised over $75,000 during the annual campaign and ranked No. 59 out of 500 accounts in terms of donations in the surrounding area.

For the 2020 campaign, Wheels granted employees the option of designating donations to a Chicago Community COVID-19 Recovery Fund that supports local communities hardest hit by the pandemic. Additionally, Wheels doubled its contribution this year, matching employee donations 2-to-1. Wheels employees raised more than $40,000, totaling over $130,000 with the Wheels match.

“This campaign is near and dear to our employees as well as the Frank family,” said Mary Formosa, vice president of human resources at Wheels. “Community is one of our core values and we knew additional support was necessary during this time of uncertainty. We take pride in partnering with the United Way each year to make a positive impact on the people of our community and the environment in which we operate. Not only does the campaign give back to our community, it boosts morale and brings employees together, especially during challenging times.”

For 20 years, Wheels has partnered with United Way to give back, support and enhance our local community. In this time, Wheels raised more than $1.5 million to support healthcare, financial, basic needs and educational programs in our community. United Way has also supported Wheels employees in their hour of need. Donations provide crucial funding to the entire metro Chicago region, including the American Red Cross, the Wings Program, Inc., the YWCA Evanston/North Shore and Northwest Compass.
