Under the strategic cooperation arrangements, ProLogium will provide solid-state battery cells to VinFast starting in 2024. ProLogium’s first major solid state battery plant, slated to launch in early 2023, will focus primarily on production capacity to supply VinFast.

A promising technology, solid-state batteries offer advantages in terms of safety, energy density, hyper fast-charging capability, recyclability, weight optimization, costs and lifetime, according to VinFast.

"VinFast has focused on investing and building strategic partnerships with leading companies in the industry and breakthrough technology companies to quickly grasp and apply technologies for smart and sustainable mobility solutions," said Le Thi Thu Thuy, VinFast Global CEO.

Established in 2017, Hanoi-based VinFast owns a state-of-the-art automotive manufacturing complex with globally leading scalability that boasts up to 90% automation in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The company is the latest core venture of the private conglomerate Vingroup.

The company recently announced with an initial investment of $US2 billion in Phase 1 of constructing a manufacturing plant in North Carolina for electric cars and electric buses.
