As we put a bow on 2018, and look toward 2019, it's that time again to take a closer look at the news that most interested fleet readers. Toyota's fleet ordering dates, Ford's shifting vehicle lineup, and Amazon's foray to develop a last-mile delivery fleet were among the most-viewed news stories of 2018 on AutomotiveFleet.com.
On June 4, Toyota provided commercial fleet managers with ordering and delivery dates for its 2019-model-year lineup, which added three new vehicles, including generational updates to the Avalon and RAV4. Toyota also added a hatchback version of its Corolla compact car.
Ford's announcement that it was eliminating most cars from its lineup was another top topic, as was Amazon's development of an owner-operator model for a delivery fleet that will employ third-generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans built in the U.S. for the first time.
