Mercedes-Benz Recalls 8,700 Vehicles for Door Locks
Dealers will inspect each left-rear door lock and replace it if needed, as part of a safety recall expected to begin this month.

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 8,700 vehicles because the rear passenger doors on the driver side might indicate they’re locked when they’re not, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall covers certain 2017 GLE400 4Matic, GLE350 4Matic, GLE350, GLE550e 4Matic, GLE43 AMG 4Matic, GLE63 AMG 4Matic, GLS450, GLE63S 4Matic, GLS63 4Matic, S550e, S600, S63 AMG 4Matic, S65 AMG, S550, Mercedes-Maybach S600, Mercedes-Maybach S550 4Matic, GLE43 AMG 4Matic Coupe and GLE63S 4Matic Coupe vehicles. Also covered are 2017-2018 GLS550 4Matic and S550 4Matic vehicles, along with 2018 S450 and S63 AMG 4Matic vehicles.
“If the door appears to be locked, the door may be unintentionally opened, increasing the risk of injury,” NHTSA warned on its website.
MBUSA dealers will inspect each left-rear door lock and replace it if needed. There will be no charge for this service.
