Porsche is lightly updating its Macan for 2019, a year after the luxury SUV entered its second generation. The 2019 Macan will add a three-dimensional LED panel at the rear, standard LED headlights, and a revamped interior design.

Porsche will unveil the vehicle on Nov. 28 ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Macan will now offer a larger, standard 10.9-inch full HD touch screen with the latest version of the Porsche Communication Management infotainment system. As with the Panamera and Cayenne models, users can customize the interface by positioning movable tiles and choosing their respective functions from a list of options.

The new system features connected navigation, Porsche Connect Plus (with LTE phone module and SIM card reader), a WLAN hotspot, and several Porsche Connect services. Online navigation data can be updated via a connection to HERE Cloud. Apple CarPlay is optional.

Porsche is also adding the new Traffic Jam Assist function as a component of the optional adaptive cruise control system. With the technology, the Macan can accelerate, brake, and keep itself within a marked lane at speeds of up to 40 mph.

The Porsche Connect app and Porsche Car Connect app enable the driver to communicate with the Macan via their smartphone. The 2019 Macan also adds the Offroad Precision app to improve and record off-road driving.

The powertrain carries over form 2018. A 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine makes 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. In combination with its seven-gear PDK dual-clutch gearbox, the compact SUV can spring from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds, or 6.1 seconds with Launch Control if equipped with the optional Sport Chrono package, which migrates to an updated design for this model year. The new model can accelerate to a top track speed of 142 mph.
