New Look, More Safety Features Coming to 2021 Chevrolet Equinox

The Equinox was General Motor’s second best-selling vehicle overall in the U.S. for the 2019 model year.

General Motors announced a refresh of its Chevrolet Equinox SUV for the 2021 model year, which will be available for purchase in fall 2020.  

The MY-2021 Equinox will again be available in L, LS, LT, Premier trims. But new to this year, the Equinox will be available in the RS trim. Safety and driver assistance features will also be available on more trims in the 2021 model year.

Lane keep assist with lane departure warning; rear-vision camera; following distance indicator; automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, IntelliBeam Headlamps; and forward collision alert will be key standard safety features.

Adaptive cruise control; automatic parking assist; safety alert seta; rear cross traffic alert, front park assist, rear park assist, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert are available safety options.

Appearance-wise, the Equinox will receive a redesigned front and rear fascias, new LED headlamps, and a more aggressive grille.

Powertrain-wise, the Equinox will be available with a 1.5L or 2.0L turbo engine mated to a six- or nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive will be an available option.

The Equinox was General Motor’s second best-selling vehicle overall in the U.S. for the 2019 model year. Roughly 20% of Chevrolet buyers who previously owned a vehicle from another brand buys an Equinox.
