SAN DIEGO– Networkcar is changing its name to Networkfleet. The name change and corresponding new brand image reflects the company's sole focus on helping commercial and government fleets to increase operating efficiency and reduce costs. The company also announced its recent move to a larger, newly renovated building in San Diego to expand its headquarters. This new building nearly doubles the company's office space to accommodate current and future growth.

Networkfleet was the first to develop a wireless diagnostic monitoring system that connects directly to a vehicle's on-board diagnostic OBD-II port, the company said. Approaching its 10-year anniversary, the company and its affiliates now have more than 50 patents issued or pending surrounding vehicle diagnostics. In 2006, it was acquired by Hughes Telematics.

While GPS-based vehicle tracking systems are becoming common with many small competitors entering the market, Networkfleet combines precise GPS vehicle location with engine diagnostics and real-time reporting. Fleet managers receive alerts and log on to a secure Web site to manage vehicle information. Networkfleet also helps fleets Go Green and Save Green by continuously monitoring emissions and gives them the ability to reduce fuel usage, lower idle time, reduce vehicle speed, and lower miles traveled. In California, Networkfleet customers are wirelessly "smog checked" to immediately identify vehicles that are out-of-compliance.

Networkfleet customers represent a broad range of industries and fleet sizes, from less than 10 vehicles to thousands of vehicles. Customers include service fleets, delivery, transportation services, construction, and all levels of government. Examples include Cloud 9 Shuttle, Roto-Rooter, the State of Delaware, and the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition, the company's technology has been integrated with a wide range of fleet applications and is offered through a vast network of resellers, VARS, and partners. These partners include PHH Arval, Wright Express, AssetWorks, and ProMiles.
