Mercedes-Benz is upgrading its V-6-powered E-Class lineup for the 2019 model year by boosting engine power, a new navigation logic that increases safety, and interior upgrades, the company has announced.

For 2019, the E450 and E450 4Matic all-wheel drive models will replace the existing E400 and E4Matic sedans. Mercedes-Benz will again offer four body styles, including sedan, coupe, cabriolet, and wagon.

The 2019 E450 will be equipped with a more powerful 3.0-liter biturbo V-6 that generates 362 horsepower (a 33-hp boost) and 369 pound-feet of torque (15 lb.-ft. more) than the outgoing model. The E300 and E300 4Matic sedans will return equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo inline four-cylinder that makes 241 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 2019 E-Class lineup will recieve safety and driver-assisting features that were added to the S-Class that was redesigned in 2017. It will add a feature known as route-based speed adaptation that uses a substantially broader scope of map and navigation data to more safety navigate different driving roads and situations, according to the company.

Interior upgrades include a three-spoke Nappa leather steering wheel, two additional trim options with matching center consoles, and 19-inch AMG wheels available with Night Package and Rear Safety Package.

The new models will go in sale this fall. Mercedes-Benz will announce pricing closer to launch.
