LeasePlan USA has established a sales region in Michigan and Ohio to develop new business, the Alpharetta, Ga.-based fleet management company has announced.
Alex Meierdiercks has joined LeasePlan as regional vice president of business development to oversee business activity in the two Midwest states. Meierdiercks joins LeasePlan from Mike Albert Fleet Solutions, where he spent six years and leaves the role of business development manager.
"It is a transformational era here at LeasePlan," said Gerry Tellier, senior vice president of business development in the east region. "Alex is another outstanding addition to support in LeasePlan’s strategy. He will no doubt be an asset to his future and prospective clients."
While at Mike Albert Fleet Solutions, Meierdiercks focused on energy savings performance contracting, working with private equity firms and their acquired portfolio, and public and privately held businesses.
Some of the larger fleets in Ohio include Cincinnati-based Cintas Corp.; Columbus-based Safelite AutoGlass, American Electric Power, and NiSource, Inc.; Cleveland-based Sherwin-Williams Co.; and Akron-based First Energy. Larger Michigan fleets include Troy-based vRide and Midland-based Dow Chemical.
