AUBURN HILLS, Mich. --- Attendees of the Chrysler Arts, Beats and Eats festival in downtown Pontiac saw green this past Labor Day weekend, as Chrysler showcased its most fuel-efficient vehicles. "ITC Green Street" was home to environmental information, displays and four of Chrysler's most environmentally friendly models. Vehicles displayed on "Green Street" included: -- The 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel, with 25 percent better fuel economy and lower greenhouse gas emissions than a comparable gas vehicle. The Grand Cherokee diesel is approved for use with B5 biodiesel fuel. -- The Chrysler Sebring 2.7-liter flexible fuel vehicle, capable of running on clean, renewable, American-made E85 (ethanol) fuel. -- The Dodge Avenger 2.4-liter vehicle with 30 miles per gallon highway fuel economy. -- A four-passenger GEM all-electric, zero emission vehicle. In addition, several Global Electric Motorcars (GEM) vehicles served as utility vehicles for the organizers of the weekend fair on the streets of downtown Pontiac. GEM, a Chrysler company, produces six fully electric vehicle models including two-, four- and six-passenger cars and utility vehicles. GEMs meet all federal safety standards for low-speed vehicles and are legal in about 40 states.
