Gasoline Falls to $2.89 Per Gallon
The national average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline fell 4.7 cents to $2.894 for the week ending Nov. 17. The latest price decline continues a trend of falling fuel prices that began in late June.

The national average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline fell 4.7 cents to $2.894 for the week ending Nov. 17. The latest price decline continues a trend of falling fuel prices that began in late June, according to federal data.
The average price of gasoline is now 32.5 cents lower than it was a year ago at this time, and remains at a four-year low. It cracked the $3-per-gallon level a week ago. Prices fell in all nine regions tracked by the U.S. Energy Information Administration once again. The sharpest decline came in the Rocky Mountain region, where the average price fell 6.5 cents to $3.011. The Gulf Coast has the cheapest gasoline at $2.673.
Gasoline costs at least $3.50 per gallon in only Hawaii ($3.956) and Alaska ($3.59). It costs less than $3 per gallon now in 34 states. South Carolina remains the best deal for gasoline at $2.631 per gallon. Gasoline in Texas averages $2.693 for the fifth cheapest price, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
Meanwhile, the average price of diesel fuel fell 1.6 cents to $3.661 per gallon. Diesel now costs 16.1 cents less than it did a year ago.
