A new connected-vehicle partnership will help Emkay Inc. provide expanded data from multiple vehicle manufacturers to its fleet customers, the Itasca, Ill.-based fleet management company has announced.
Motorq is a Sillicon Valley software startup that's backed by venture capital. The company helps fleets and dealer groups build mobility infrastructure with its secure cloud platform, according to the company.
The new capability will help improve fleet safety, streamline maintenance management, and improve operational efficiency. Emkay is integrating it into its fleet management portal for clients.
"Emkay's customers will see enhanced value based on insights from new data sources delivered through our innovative products, expeditious service, and proactive consulting," said David Nagy, Emkay's senior vice president of North American sales and service.
Motorq will provide its data through APIs that Emkay can use in its applications. Motorq is providing "high-quality OEM data integrations," said Andrew Griffith, Emkay's CIO.
In May 2018, Motorq raised $2 million in seed financing from sevearl venture capital firms to scale its platform. Investors included Monta Vista Capital, Fraser McCombs Capital, Purple Arch Ventures, Story Ventures, Milliways Ventures, and others.
