Combined, the eight manufacturers sold 4,974 cars, which was a 1.2% decline year-over-year. The combined truck segment commercial fleet sales total in December 2019 was 59,848, which represented a 13.6% year-over-year improvement, according to Automotive Fleet data.

This was a solid improvement over the November 2019 commercial fleet sales total of 54,384, which was a 9.9% year-over-year decline.

Government fleet sales from five manufacturers totaled 21,010, a 1.6% decline compared to the same time in December 2018.

Similar to the commercial fleet segment, sales of sedans were down, and truck segment sales were up among government fleet sales. Sedan sales totaled 2,760, which was a 25% decline over the same time in 2018. Truck sales were up 3.3% year-over-year at 18,250.

Unlike the commercial and government fleet markets, the daily rental market saw growth in sedan segment, and a decline in truck segment sales.
