DETROIT --- Chrysler LLC is unveiling three concept cars at the North American International Auto Show, highlighting progress made by the company's ENVI division. Chrysler launched the ENVI division last year to lead the automaker's efforts to use greener, next-generation technologies along with current hybrid technologies. The three concept cars are the Chrysler ecoVoyager, the Dodge ZEO and the Jeep Renegade. Chrysler also announced plans to sell a hybrid Dodge Ram in the 2010 model year, the Detroit Free Press reported. The ecoVoyager concept car is powered primarily by a lithium-ion battery pack for a commute of less than 40 miles. A range extender running off a hydrogen fuel cell could permit an occasional trip of more than 300 miles. The Renegade uses a similar 40-mile battery, but relies on a Bluetec diesel engine for longer distances. The electric-only ZEO is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack that's good for at least 250 miles before it requires recharging.
