Buick saw its global sales increase 9% year over year to start 2018, which was fueled by strong SUV sales across North America.
Buick Encore sales surged in the U.S. and Canada, with Encore sales up 32% year over year in Canada, according to Buick. Buick also reported strong Enclave sales in Mexico, with total North American sales up 8% in the first quarter.
More than 22% of Enclave North American retails sales have been Avenir models, which is Buick’s new luxury sub-brand, according to the automaker.
Meanwhile, demand for the Buick Regal has grown in China, with sales up 35% year over year.
