April Gasoline Demand Peaks, Prices Rise
The national average price of regular unleaded gasoline increased 5 cents to $2.76 per gallon as consumer demand surged to the highest level on record in April, reports AAA.

The national average price of regular unleaded gasoline increased 5 cents to $2.76 per gallon as consumer demand surged to the highest level on record in April, reports AAA.
Gasoline demand has reached 9.85 million barrels per day, and gasoline prices increased around the country. Five states saw double-digit price spikes. The current price is 17 cents higher than a month ago and 34 cents higher than a year ago.
"Pump prices are causing sticker shock across the country," said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson. "Gas is selling at $2.26 or more at every gas station in America. More so, 13 percent of stations have pump prices set at $3 or more."
The West Coast now has the most expensive gasoline. That region averages more than $3 per gallon. Gasoline has also increased on the East Coast, where Pennsylvania gasoline has reached $2.97 per gallon.
Meanwhile, the average price of diesel has increased 2.9 cents to $3.133 per gallon, which is 53.8 cents higher than a year ago.
