Al Cavalli Receives AF Achievement Award

Cavalli joins such previous eminent recipients of AF's Annual Achievement Award for the Outstanding Fleet Administrator as Emil Ames and Sam Lee.

Alfred J. Cavalli, fleet administrator, C.I.T. Financial Corporation, New York City, was presented with Automotive Fleet's sixth annual award for outstanding achievement in the field of fleet administration, by Edward J. Bobit, editor and publisher of AUTOMOTIVE FLEET, at the 11th Annual Conference of the National Association of Fleet Administrators, held at the Palmer House, Chicago, March 19-21.

Cavalli joins such previous eminent recipients of AF's Annual Achievement Award for the Outstanding Fleet Administrator as Emil Ames, Checker Motor Sales Corp.; Sam Lee, Emkay, Inc.; Walter Langseder, Thomas J. Lipton, Inc.; Lee A. Westberg, Gerber Products Co., and E. W. Scammon, Chief, Transportation Division, Department of General Services, State of California.

A native New Yorker, Cavalli has over 21 years of experience in the car fleet industry. After a three year stint in the U.S. Army Air Corps, he organized his own automotive service company in Brooklyn, N.Y.

In 1957, he joined the C.I.T. Financial Corporation as a repossession correspondent. His career with the company included repossession car sales outlet manager: repossession supervisor; assistant manager, car control department; and in 1963, as fleet administrator, assumed control of the C.I.T. fleet of 2,100 vehicles.

Cavalli, a member of NAFA for over eight years, has served as an officer of the New York Chapter; has been active in the national association as general conference chairman in 1966 and 1976; as 2nd vice president, 1967-1968 and 1968-1969.

He has been active in presenting the story of fleet administration through speaking engagements and contributions to Automotive Fleet and other trade papers.
