PONTIAC, MI - TK Holdings Inc., the North American subsidiary of Takata Corp., said it is addressing the roadway hazard of drowsy driving in the commercial trucking industry with the company's SafeTraK3 advanced electronic vision system.

SafeTraK3 includes a lane-departure and driver-alertness warning system, which cautions commercial truck drivers whenever they drive erratically within a lane or unintentionally depart from their lane. Both behaviors are prime indicators of driver drowsiness or fatigue, and many experts anticipate such systems will soon be made available to consumers on a wide variety of passenger cars, the company said.
