WASHINGTON - General Motors is recalling more than 20,200 MY 2009-2010 Cadillac CTS and CTS-V vehicles because they don't comply with all federal safety standards for occupant crash protection.

In the event of a crash, the front passenger may be at an increased risk of leg injury, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

To remedy the problem, Cadillac dealers will replace the glove compartment assembly and, in some vehicles, modify the instrument panel structure. There will be no charge for this service.

The safety recall is expected to begin next month.

Vehicle owners can reach Cadillac at (866) 982-2339. For reference, this recall has been assigned No. N100292.
