WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Toyota is recalling 1,348 MY 2009 and 2010 passenger cars built from June 2, 2008 to May 4, 2009 because they weren't equipped with proper load-carrying capacity modification labels.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the incorrect labels pose the risk of owners overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota will notify the owners of the vehicles covered by the recall and provide a new, accurate label to be applied over the inaccurate label. There will be no charge for the new label.

The recall takes effect this month.
