SEAL BEACH, CA – Shares of Clean Energy Fuels have spiked 10.4 percent, or $1.23, to $13.10, after billionaire oilman T. Boone Pickens said in a television interview that the natural gas company was one of his top holdings. He is the cofounder and largest shareholder of the company, according to www.forbes.com.
According to Ronald Oster of Broadpoint Capital Oster, there are some large target markets for the industry that are essentially untapped, such as fleet operators which include transit, refuse, airports, and seaports. Oster also said that at the same time the cost of natural gas vehicles has come down.
Clean Energy reported that it expects to continue to benefit from an increasing number of fleet vehicle operators seeking alternatives to diesel.
