Speaking at the meeting’s opening reception, Samus discussed the “Prospects for and State of the American Economy."
The meeting’s general business session included a presentation by David Powell, president and CEO of Canadian Finance & Leasing Association and a panel discussion on energy. The panel featured Bill Becker, executive director, State and Territorial Air Pollution Program; Administrators Association of Local Air Pollution Control officials; Gil Sperling, Esq., Counselors, Inc.; and David R. Hill, Esq. deputy general counsel for Energy Policy, U.S. Department of Energy. AALA meeting attendees also heard a presentation by Gary Lapidus, senior industry analyst, Goldman, Sachs & Co.
