Ford Motor Co., in cooperation with Sensors, Inc., has developed a method for measuring vehicle emissions in on-road testing under real-world driving conditions. Historically, most emissions validation tests have been performed in dynamometer laboratories that follow strict U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) procedures. Ford says that in the future emissions testing is expected to incorporate both dynamometer and on-road testing cycles.
