GM's full-size vans – Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana, built at the Wentzville Assembly Center – posted another year of significant quality gains in the 2004 J.D. Power and Associates 2004 Initial Quality Study. Over the past four years, the vans have achieved 50.2 percent improvement in overall customer satisfaction in initial quality — going from 217 problems per hundred vehicles (pph) to 109 pph. Quality gains during this period have contributed to a 9-point increase in GM's full-size van market share — rising from 37.7 percent in calendar year 2000 to 46.8 percent year-to-date in 2004.
