Kia, Toyota, and Volvo were among the biggest winners of the 2020 awards.
Kia earned awards within five categories, the most of any brand in 2020. The categories that the brand earned the awards for were the compact sedan; midsize SUV/crossover; hybrid SUV/crossover; electric/plug-in hybrid SUV/crossover; and minivan categories.
The Kia vehicles that earned these category awards included the Kia Forte; Kia Sorento; Kia Niro; Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid; and Kia Sedona, respectively. The Sorento, Niro, and Niro Plug-In Hybrid have earned this recognition from previous Vincentric fleet value awards.
Toyota was close behind with wins in four categories, which included the compact hatchback; hybrid sedan; electric/plug-in hybrid sedan; and small/midsize pickup categories. In respective order, the vehicles that earned Toyota wins in these awards included the Corolla hatchback; Toyota Prius; Toyota Prius Prime; and Toyota Tacoma.
The Tacoma is a notable winner this year because it has earned a win in the small/midsize pickup category 13 out of the 15 years that Vincentric has been holding these awards.
Volvo earned wins in four categories as well. These categories included luxury large sedan; luxury wagon; luxury compact SUV/crossover; and luxury electric/plug-in hybrid SUV/crossover. The winning vehicles were the T6 – Momentum AWD; T5 – Momentum FWD; T4 – Momentum FWD; and T8 – Momentum.
Chevrolet, Ram, and Mercedes-Benz also had good showings, each earning three wins in different categories.
Chevrolet’s Spark, Silverado 2500, and Express G2500 earned wins for the subcompact hatchback; full-size ¾-ton pickup; and full-size ¾-ton passenger van categories, respectively.
The Ram 1500 took a win in the full-size ½-ton pickup category; the Ram Promaster City earned a win in the small commercial passenger van category; and the Ram Promaster earned a win in the full-size 1-ton cargo van category.
Mercedes-Benz’ Sprinter line of vehicles won out in the full-size ½-ton passenger van; full-size 1/2ton cargo van; and full-size ¾-ton cargo van categories.
Subaru, Dodge, Audi, and Nissan all earned two awards in 2020. Meanwhile Hyundai, BMW, Lincoln, Infiniti, Ford, and GMC each earned one award.
“The 2020 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America Awards saw a broad range of manufacturers win multiple awards,” said Vincentric President, David Wurster. “As more manufacturers provide the fleet market with additional, viable options, Vincentric’s data-driven methodologies help narrow down the expanding array of choices and provide the fleet industry with insight into which vehicles are the best value for their fleets.”
To determine the winners of the 2020 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America Awards, Vincentric performs a cost of ownership analysis that measures over 2,500 vehicle configurations based on typical fleet use.
Depreciation, fees & taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs are the eight factors that are taken into account for each vehicle. All vehicles are evaluated in all 50 states, including D.C., using 28 different lifecycle scenarios.
The ultimate winner for each category is the vehicle that had the lowest fleet lifecycle cost in the most scenarios within its segment.
